History
The practice opened in 1940's by Des O'Neill, who himself was trained as an understudy for Captain Evans of Mount Nugent. Captain Evans worked as a veterinary surgeon on the western front in World War 1 and came back to practice in Mount Nugent in the 1920's & 1930's.
Tom Brownell joined Des O' Neill in the late 50's. Michael McConnell (pictured with dog) joined in 1978, and eventually Patrick Flynn and Barry O'Connell joined him in the 90's. Michael McConnell was a mixed veterinary surgeon, a great character, very much loved and missed by clients, members of staff and partners. His legacy lives on in the practice here at Oldcastle, Flynn & O'Connell Veterinary.
